የከፍተኛ ትምህርት ዘይቤ፣ (ዘየአውዱት ከመ ዳመና)

የዶ/ር ዕጔለ ገብረዮሐንስ መጽሐፍ፣ “የከፍተኛ ትምህርት ዘይቤ”፣ (አዲስ አበባ) በ2003/4 ዓ.ም እንደገና ታተመ፡፡ ይህም የመጀመሪያው እትም ከወጣ ከ48 ዓመታት በኋላ መሆኑ ነው፡፡ ዋጋው ኪስ አይጎዳም፡፡ ያንን የሚያህል ቁምነገረኛ መጽሐፍ በ22.00 የኢትዮጵያ ብር ገዝቶ መጨምጨም ይቻላል፡፡ ገጽ በገጽ ሲገልጡት ከ እሰከ ስለሌለው ሃሴትን ያጭራል፡፡ እንደዚህ መጽሐፍ ዘወትር አዲስ ሃተታ የሚሆኑብኝ የአማርኛ መጽሐፍት ከአስራ አምስት ወይም አስራ ስድስት አይበለጡም፡፡ ይኼንኛው ግን የተለየ ነው፡፡ ውብ ነው! ድንቅ ነው!….

Condemn President Obama’s invite of Dictator Meles of Ethiopia

President Obama like previous U.S. presidents has decided to show a blind eye towards African dictators, who cow tow U.S. policy in the name of fighting terrorism. In reality many African dictators are terrorizing their own people. In particular, Dictator Meles Zenawi of Ethiopia has been known to engage in extra-judicial killing, genocide, and keep journalists like Eskinder Nega and other political prisoners in his dudgeon. Meles Zenawi: Ethiopia to Liberalize Telecom and Banking

(Bloomberg) — Ethiopia will liberalize its banking and telecommunications industries once it has the capacity to regulate them, Prime Minister Meles Zenawi said.
“As we grow, as we develop, as we become more sophisticated in our regulation, we will liberalize,” he said
at the World Economic Forum on Africa today in Ethiopia’s capital, Addis Ababa. “Our plan is not designed to keep the private sector at bay.”
The state-owned Ethio Telecom monopolizes telecommunications in the Horn of Africa nation, while foreign companies are barred from banking.
On the other hand Ethiopia Prime Minister Meles Zenawi said Nations need democracy for stability and not to achieve economic growth. “There is no direct relationship between economic growth and democracy, historically or theoretically”, he said at the World Economic Forum on Africa in Ethiopia’s capital, Addis
Ababa. “I don’t believe in bedtime stories, contrived arguments linking economic growth with democracy.”

Mulatu Astatke honored by Berklee

Ethiopian jazz giant Mulatu Astatke has been honored by the world-renowned Berklee College of Music yesterday. Mulatu, often dubbed as the father of Ethiopian jazz, was presented honorary doctor of music degree from the university’s president Roger H. Brown at 2012 commencement. Mulatu told journalists over the phone that he was elated to have received this honor and this was a magical moment in his long career. Speaking hours after ceremony, the jazz legend said the accolade is recognition of not only his achievement but also his country’s rich and diverse musical heritage.
Mulatu delivered the commencement address to the graduating class and an estimated crowd of more than 4,000 guests at the Agganis Arena, according the university’s website. In his address, Read the rest of this entry
