Using Skype in Ethiopia Could Land You in Jail

New Ethiopian Law Criminalises Skype, Installs Internet Filters (Africa Review)

The Ethiopian supervision has upheld new legislation that criminalises a use of Internet-based voice communications such as Skype and other forms of Internet phone calling.

Authorities have also commissioned a new filtering complement that monitors a use of a Internet in a tightly-controlled Horn of Africa nation in a pierce seen as targeting dissidents.

The telecoms law particularly prohibits VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) that includes audio and video associated amicable media communication, and a send of information packages by a quick flourishing tellurian cyber networks.
